New Hampshire plate format rules
- Length
- 1–7 characters.
- Allowed characters
- Letters A–Z, numbers 0–9, and “-”, “&”, “+”.
- Letters
- Must contain at least one letter (no all-number combinations).
A combination may not consist only of numerals, or only numerals plus &, + and -, so a letter is effectively required. At most two of &, + and - may appear and they may not be consecutive; only the count of two is encodable here. No space character is allowed and no minimum length is published. RSA 261:89 delegates the detail to Admin Code Saf-C 513.62, read via law.cornell.edu because NH's own admin-code site blocks direct fetches.
