Alabama plate format rules

- Plates containing “O”.
Rule 810-5-1-.234 caps personalized plates at 5 to 7 characters depending on plate category (standard passenger is 7) and states no explicit minimum. The letter O is automatically replaced with the digit 0, duplicate messages are refused, and objectionable combinations can be revoked after issuance.
